3D Model Node
Upload and display 3D models with interactive orbit controls.
The 3D Model node is the planned media node for displaying 3D assets on the canvas — uploaded models and the output of 3D Generation. It is the 3D counterpart to the static media nodes for images, video, and audio, intended to render a model with interactive orbit controls rather than play timed media.
Intended role
Like the other media nodes, the 3D Model node is intended to store a durable, synced reference to a model file and render it on the canvas. It is designed for display and reuse rather than generation: a model produced by a 3D Generation node, or one you upload, would land in a 3D Model node and remain available to downstream steps and later sessions.
Planned behavior
- Display an uploaded or generated 3D model with interactive orbit controls, following the same store-and-reuse pattern as the image, video, and audio media nodes.
- Keep a durable, sync-backed media reference with the node so the model survives reloads and is reusable across the canvas.
- Act as the display target for the 3D Generation nodes once that backend ships.
Today
Until the 3D Model node ships, the available media nodes are Image, Video, and Audio. This page will be updated with the real supported formats and viewer controls when the 3D Model node is wired in.
